Bahiyyih (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor trained in a range of therapeutic approaches, including Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. Bahiyyih completed her graduate education in Marriage, Couples, & Family Counseling at the University of South Carolina. She moved to Alaska in October 2018, fell in love, and is proud of her life here. She has been a counselor, advocate, and educator, working with teens, adults, couples, and families in a nonprofit rape crisis center, school-based mental health program, foster care, tribal and community mental health organizations, and group private practice. Bahiyyih is grateful for the rich diversity of Alaska and is honored to live and work on the beautiful unceded land of the Dena’ina Athabascan people.

Elizabeth Young-Ortiz, LCSW
Elizabeth “Liz” (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Drawing from her background in multiple therapeutic practices and settings, Liz incorporates techniques from Polyvagal Theory, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Brainspotting, and Child-Centered Play Therapy. Liz has provided support in a variety of challenging environments, including hospitals, schools, tribal and community mental health settings, jails, courtrooms, and the child protection system. She emphasizes the importance of understanding individuals within the context of their internal systems, relationships, family dynamics, communities, and broader societal influences.

Liz draws on her own experiences as the child of an immigrant in a multiethnic household, using this personal insight to enrich her ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds. She particularly enjoys working with LGBTQIA+ people and families and with young adults. She earned her degree from the University of Louisville’s Kent School of Social Work. In her spare time, Liz enjoys nurturing both houseplants and her children. She believes that laughter shared with others is one of life’s greatest joys. Through her empathetic approach, Liz is committed to supporting individuals on their unique journeys toward healing and growth.
